Puzzle Circuit Privacy Policy

About this policy

This policy describes how Puzzle Circuit for iOS and Android handles information. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean the developer of Puzzle Circuit. For support or privacy requests, contact chase@sudokuhero.app.

Saved puzzles and preferences

Puzzle Circuit does not require an account. Saved puzzles, progress, statistics, streaks, and preferences are stored locally on your device. There is no account-based cloud-sync service. Your operating system may include app data in backups according to your settings.

Limited summaries of gameplay and app use are sent to Amplitude and, when enabled under the conditions below, Google Analytics for Firebase. These analytics are separate from the saved puzzle records on your device.

Product analytics

We use Amplitude to understand how the app works and improve it. Production builds send selected events such as app sessions, puzzle starts and completions, resumes and exits, hints and checks, tutorial use, changes to certain settings, purchase and restoration outcomes, aggregated banner-ad interactions, and categories of app errors.

Events may include the game, mode, difficulty, an opaque puzzle identifier, an anonymous attempt identifier, elapsed time and other numerical summaries, app version, platform, device and operating-system information, and language. Amplitude associates events with an automatically generated device identifier; we do not ask you to create an account or provide a name for analytics.

Our Amplitude configuration disables advertising identifiers, IDFV, app-set identifiers, carrier collection, IP-address enrichment, automatic event capture, and session replay. We do not send puzzle-board arrays, player notes, purchase receipts or tokens, or raw error messages to Amplitude. We do not record each move or tap. Analytics is processed in Amplitude's US region.

Firebase Analytics and campaign measurement

We also use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app use and measure how people discover Puzzle Circuit. When collection is enabled, the SDK records standard app events such as first opens, sessions and engagement, and may record supported purchase events. It associates activity with an automatically generated app-instance identifier and processes app version, device and operating-system information, language, and approximate location derived from network information. We do not set an account-based user ID for Firebase Analytics.

Our custom puzzle-completion event includes the game, mode, difficulty, and numerical summaries such as play time, hints used and errors. This event does not include puzzle boards, player notes, names, email addresses, purchase receipts or purchase tokens. Automatic screen reporting and collection of advertising identifiers, Apple's identifier for vendors (IDFV), and Android ID are disabled in our Firebase configuration.

Firebase Analytics collection starts disabled. Our app enables it only in configured production builds when Google's consent information reports that GDPR does not apply, consent is not required, and ad requests are permitted, with no pending consent setup or reported error. Required, unknown or failed consent states leave collection disabled. We do not treat a European advertising-consent choice as a separate analytics opt-in. Eligibility is checked again when the app returns to the foreground. Firebase's advertising storage, advertising user-data and advertising-personalization consent categories remain denied even when analytics storage is enabled.

For players who own Remove Ads, the app can refresh Google's consent information to determine this analytics eligibility without loading ads or displaying advertising consent forms or an Apple tracking prompt. Removing ads does not itself opt you out of analytics or diagnostics.

Our Google Analytics property is linked to our Google Ads account for acquisition and conversion measurement. First-open and puzzle-completion events are imported as conversion actions to help measure campaign results and support acquisition optimization. The link allows campaign and conversion information to be used across these Google services; personalized advertising is disabled for this link. These settings are separate from AdMob's advertising choices described below.

Crash reporting and diagnostics

We use Sentry to detect crashes and app errors and understand reliability. Diagnostic reports may contain technical error details and stack traces, app release and build, operating-system and device information, session health information, and the screen, game, difficulty, mode, or puzzle date involved.

Default personal-information collection is disabled. Our JavaScript configuration removes user and request fields and limits breadcrumbs to app navigation. Session replay, logging, tracing, and profiling are disabled. Native crash and supported app-hang reporting remain enabled in release builds. Sentry processes this project's reports in its US region.

Advertising and privacy choices

Puzzle Circuit uses Google AdMob for banner advertisements and Google's User Messaging Platform for advertising privacy choices. Ads may be personalized when your permissions and applicable consent choices allow it. Personalized advertising may use your device identifier and activity linked across other companies' apps and websites to select ads and measure their effectiveness.

On iOS and iPadOS, we request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before enabling this advertising tracking. If you decline, tracking is restricted by the device, or authorization is unavailable, the app requests non-personalized ads. Where regional consent is required, accepting Apple's prompt does not override your advertising privacy choices. Depending on your choices, Google's services may serve non-personalized or limited ads, or no ads. Non-personalized ads can still involve data collection and device storage for ad delivery, frequency limits, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention.

Depending on platform, permissions, consent choices, and ad-serving configuration, Google and advertising partners may process IP addresses that indicate approximate location, device and app identifiers (including the advertising identifier when permitted), app and advertisement interactions, diagnostic and performance information, and consent choices. The app does not request precise location permission for advertising. Advertising partners and their processing purposes are listed in the advertising consent form where available.

Where required, the app presents advertising privacy choices before initializing ads. When available, use Settings → Advertising privacy → Manage ad privacy choices to review or change these choices. On iOS and iPadOS, you can change tracking permission in the device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Puzzle Circuit. The app also provides an Open iOS Settings shortcut under Advertising privacy. Tracking controls may be unavailable when your account or device restricts tracking. Permission is checked again when the app returns to the foreground. You can also use your device's advertising and privacy controls. Declining consent does not prevent playing puzzles, although it may affect ad availability. Advertising choices do not serve as a general analytics or crash-reporting opt-out. Firebase Analytics has the separate eligibility restrictions described above; these do not disable Amplitude or Sentry.

Ads and external links may open third-party websites or services, whose own privacy policies apply.

In-app purchases

An optional one-time purchase removes banner ads. Apple or Google processes the payment. The app receives purchase status and transaction information from the store to verify ownership, restore access, and complete transactions. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

The app stores an ad-free ownership flag locally and checks ownership with the store when available. Limited purchase and restoration outcome events are sent to Amplitude; receipts and purchase tokens are not included. Purchases can be restored with the same account on the same store. Removing the app does not delete the store's purchase records.

Local reminders

If you allow notifications, the app may schedule local reminders about daily streaks. These reminders are scheduled on your device. This feature does not use a developer notification server. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.

Support and problem reports

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. The in-app problem-report feature lets you preview a report, then open an email draft or share sheet. Reports can include your description, selected game and puzzle details, and app, build, and operating-system information. You choose whether and where to send the report. Screenshots are not attached automatically.

We use correspondence to respond, troubleshoot, and handle privacy requests. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information. Email is processed by the services used to send and receive it.

Retention, deletion, and security

Local progress and preferences remain until removed or replaced. You can remove local app data through the app's reset controls, deleting the app and its data, or applicable device storage controls. Backups may retain copies separately. Removing local data does not automatically delete previously transmitted analytics, diagnostics, advertising records, purchase records, or correspondence.

We retain support correspondence as needed to respond and handle related requests. Analytics and diagnostic records are subject to the retention settings and service arrangements for Amplitude, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Sentry. Google, Apple, and other providers handle records under their own policies and applicable arrangements. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Audience and privacy requests

Puzzle Circuit is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through support correspondence. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can review the request.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, withdraw consent, or object to processing. Email chase@sudokuhero.app to make a request concerning information held by us. We may need information to locate the relevant records and verify the request. Because gameplay does not require an account, we may be unable to connect an email address to anonymous analytics records without additional information. For records controlled by a provider, use that provider's privacy controls or request channels. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
